ABOUT THE FOOD PANTRY

Our Food Pantry provides supplemental nutrition through The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) to eligible low income households. First Universalist Church, using funds given specifically for the Food Pantry, purchases food from the Food Bank of East Alabama at the TEFAP subsidized rate of  $0.18/pound.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Food Distribution is first-come, first-served on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 12:00 pm in room 144C.

ENROLLMENT

We enroll new guests on Fridays from 10:00 to 3:00 pm (walk-in) and by appointment.

Neighbors wishing to participate in the Food Pantry must have their primary residence within a mile and a half of the corporate limits of the Town of Camp Hill OR be active members of First Universalist Church.

Because this program is subsidized by the state, neighbors must also meet one of the following TEFAP eligibility criteria set by the State of Alabama:
  • Participation in the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program;
  • Participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP);
  • Receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI);
  • Meet income eligibility requirements.
On-Site Food Program
With your financial partnership we can complete the renovations to our kitchen and dining room so we can offer an on-site food program, in partnership with the Food Bank of East Alabama, to provide warm meals to those who need them.
