Building Life-Affirming and Resilient Community

Oak Street Community Center is a collaboration between First Universalist Church of Camp Hill and the Alabama Center for Rural Organizing and Systemic Solutions (ACROSS). Our purpose is to build life-affirming and resilient communities in Camp Hill guided by the principles of mutuality and radical inclusion.

Located in the historic former Universalist parsonage, operational costs are currently met by First Universalist, while ACROSS manages the center. While part of an active faith community, Oak Street is a secular program open to all.

Our work is made possible by hardworking and dedicated volunteers and a small, part-time staff. Our programs help our most disenfranchised neighbors build better lives for themselves and their families by addressing food insecurity and strengthening community bonds through mutual aid.
